Experience is important and the more you work during school on computer program related work, the better are your prospects at the job. But no resting on your laurels after you gain your entry. The industry hires and fires rapidly. Since technology advances are so rapid in this field you need to be constantly on the move to be updated on the latest developments. Periodicals, training programs, seminars etc add to your market value or else it is the dreaded pink slip.
